AL(L)ONE

Portals to Belonging

Series of portraits as inspiration and empowerment for a more connected community in times of increasing loneliness and isolation.

We are living through a time of unprecedented and still-rising waves of anxiety, depression, loneliness, disconnection, and isolation across the world.

As human beings, we all experience life in cycles and waves:
physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, which is part of what makes us human.

However, without a solid connection to our own centre, a place we can safely return to in order to lead ourselves back to balance and harmony, this natural rhythm can become a challenge. Sometimes quickly and easily, sometimes slowly, sneakily, and unexpectedly, it can turn into states of hopelessness and despair that negatively affect our health, our relationships, and our ability to show up for what truly matters to us, or even lead to a loss of fulfilment and meaning.

The Vision, Intention & Impact

Having walked through these shadows myself for many years, and having found my way to the other side - into a stable equilibrium of joy, aliveness, and a sense of belonging - I began to ask myself how I could give back to the islands I love: the places that held me while I was healing, and the communities that helped me remember who I am.

From that question, the vision of this project was born - with the intention of inspiring, empowering, and supporting humans beyond my own community circle, with the same care and presence that once carried me home to myself.

AL(L)ONE is practical, tangible inspiration - a living library in the form of a series of portraits for a more connected community preventing and mitigating increasing loneliness and isolation:

  • On three islands (Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey),

  • in three phases (Alone, not Lonely, Time Together, Sacred Solitude),

  • 90 sets of photographs and texts

    completed in 2026,

  • for multiple physical and virtual exhibitions,

  • a book,

  • and a free online course to support those in need
on their journey towards a true sense of belonging.

Why Lucie?

Lucie Stříbrská is a Czech-born, Alderney-based professional photographer and catalyst for soul-aligned missions and brands.

She first visited Alderney in 2013, and it has been her home since 2018.
Returning to her beloved island allowed her to restore her inner equilibrium and recover from long-suppressed depression and anxiety that shook her world to rock bottom in 2016.

The Channel Islands enabled her to heal, reclaim her inner harmony, and find her calling to empower others to reconnect with their whole human wellbeing

— in life and in business.

What has already been done

Graphic design with overlapping circles and the phrase 'Alone, not Lonely', 'Time Together', 'Sacred Solitude', and 'ALONE' on a black background.

I did not wait for permission or funding to begin this project.

I completed the Alderney Alone, not Lonely phase, including ten sets of photographs and texts, as well as the outline of the curriculum for the free course Navigating Stormy Seas, which will be refined with experts in human wellbeing before its public launch.

Phases of AL(L)ONE

1. Alone, not Lonely

What you choose to do on your own, intentionally enjoying your time while being alone, without feeling lonely.

2. Time Together

Activities you take part in as a member of a community, spending time together with others while pursuing a shared goal.

3. Sacred Solitude

Time you spend in solitude to connect with something greater beyond yourself in ways of being rather than doing.

TOGETHER

Let’s co-create, inspire, and

empower our communities.

Ways you can make a difference
and create real impact

I started developing and building AL(L)ONE alone, but ultimately it is a collective journey. A weaving of stories, places, people, and possibility.

However you feel called to contribute, whether through funding, partnership, participation, or presence, you are welcome here.

Together, we build a more connected world.

  • Patrons and sponsors make the long-term vision possible - from exhibitions and the book to the free course and future community initiatives.

Support AL(L)ONE as a patron or sponsor and help bring this vision to life across the Channel Islands and beyond.
Your financial contribution directly supports the creation of photographs, exhibitions, the book, and the free course designed to nurture belonging and connection.

Together, we transform this project from a vision into a living, breathing movement.

  • Each portrait and phase carries a story of belonging, resilience, and humanity.

You can directly support the creation of the work by funding a portrait or an entire phase of the project. Your support enables the voices of our communities to be seen, heard, and honoured.

This is sponsorship with soul - tangible, meaningful, and human.

  • The heart of AL(L)ONE is real people and real stories.

You can take part in the project as a portrait subject and contribute your practice to the living archive of human connection. Each participant becomes part of a shared narrative of belonging.

  • Exhibitions create real-world gathering spaces for connection.

If you run a gallery, community space, venue, school, or cultural organisation, you can host an AL(L)ONE exhibition, talk, or community event. These gatherings invite reflection, conversation, and deeper connection.

Let’s create spaces where people feel seen, welcomed, and less alone.

  • Wellbeing organisations, charities, schools, societies and councils amplify reach and impact.

We welcome partnerships with wellbeing organisations, charities, schools, and local authorities who share a commitment to mental wellbeing, community thriving in connection, and human flourishing.

Together, we can reach those who need this work most.

  • The course will be freely available to those who need support most.

Navigating Stormy Seas is a free online course designed to support those navigating loneliness, isolation, and emotional hardship. You can help make this resource accessible by sponsoring its development, production, and distribution.

Your support becomes a lifeline for others.

  • The project is interdisciplinary: photography, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, education, community, and overall human wellbeing.

If you are a wellbeing practitioner, therapist, educator, designer, writer, filmmaker, or community leader, you can contribute your expertise to the project.

This is a collective creation and your skills are welcome.

  • Visibility is vital for social impact.

Share this project with your community, workplace, school, or organisation. Every conversation opens a new door for connection.

    Belonging grows when stories travel.

  • Financial support allows the project to grow sustainably.

You can support the project with a one-off or ongoing contribution. Every penny helps bring this work to more people, more places, more hearts and souls.

Let’s Bring It All to Life Together

2026 is the year of co-creation — of portraits, online and offline exhibitions, the book, the free course, and the inspiration and empowerment of our communities, locally and globally, with ripples that will last for years beyond.
